EOHF PURPOSES

At the constitutory meeting of the Eastern Orthodox Heritage Foundation, on November 10, 2006, the Board of Directors defined the following purposes:

To aid and support parishes and missions of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Churches preserve, strength and practice their Christian doctrine, discipline, and worship, through the use of all modern means available (church involvement and participation, parochial schools, radio, television, internet, etc).

To aid and support, in cooperation with other Christian Churches, establish humanitarian programs, to minister to the elderly, sick and suffering; to improve the quality of life for the elderly, by promoting their health, security, happiness, and usefulness in longer living; to offer the senior citizens, low-income and disabled persons, affordable housing, and to ensure that they receive the services designed to meet their physical and social needs;

To establish and support, for the youth and young adults of the Eastern Orthodox Christian parishes and missions, projects to promote inter-Orthodox fellowship, common programs, and common witness to the non-Orthodox community. To promote youth education and to sponsor sports' activities, at the highest athletic levels, hiring internationally renown coaches and instructors to teach a variety of sports and train students for Olympic competitions.
